Imagine how romantic it would be watching the sun rise from the summit of Mount Coolum. A walk up Mount Coolum is a must do for couples staying in Coolum, but you do require good mobility and a reasonable level of fitness. The path becomes steeper and rockier towards the summit, which is 208 metres above sea level. While only a 1.6km return track, the recommended walking time is approximately 2 hours. The breathtaking 360° views of the coastline and the rolling hinterland are ample reward for your efforts once you reach the top and the perfect spot to maybe pop the question!

Pack a delicious picnic hamper for two and head over the road to the beautiful Coolum Beach or to one of Coolum’s other romantic picnic spots. Try Point Arkwright, Point Perry, Main Beach or one of the small bays at First, Second or Third Bay. We are located just a short stroll from Coles Supermarkets where you can pick up your favourite supplies and maybe a cheeky bottle of wine. Why not sample a few of the amazing local cheeses and dips, paired with some fresh bread or a packet of crackers. Don’t forget your picnic rug!
