If you love the beach and you love surfing then you cannot miss the Noosa Festival of Surfing from 2 to 10 March, 2019. Now in its 28th year, the Noosa Surfing Festival is the pinnacle event of the surfing community.

The festival has become an institution and is a cultural event that draws participants and surf lovers from around the world to our very own Sunshine Coast. With more than 600 entrants, this is a whole week of celebrations for spectators, surfers and their friends and families.

Spend time trying to catch the perfect wave, watch free movies or listen to live bands in between all of the excitement and action of the competitive surfing - this is the world’s best surfing party and it is right here in Noosa Heads for eight glorious days.

What to expect at the Surfing Festival

At this year’s festival you will rub shoulders with international surfers from New Zealand, Japan, Hawaii, California, France and the UK and watch the world’s best long boarders competing for a whopping total prize of $25,000.

This festival has a full schedule so you won’t have time to get bored, there are so many different divisions and races that your head will spin just trying to see it all.

For the first time in almost a decade, the World Surf League is returning to Noosa Heads, with the longboard world championship race commencing on Noosa's globally-renowned First Point. 

Then commencing on the Saturday, it’s straight into the amateur and professional longboarding divisions for an action-packed week of competitive surfing. Check out the men’s and the women’s open and age categorised surfing divisions (there are 12 different divisions) and don’t forget the speciality divisions:
